A Comprehensively Warmed House

Our new home was thoroughly warmed on a lovely night in October.

This party was six months in the planning stages, and featured performances by Mzekala Balkan Ensemble ...

... and by belly dancers Naseema and Dimah.

It gave all of us a chance to show off some of our folkloric finery.

However, even our most brilliant plumage could not compete with Sonny's costume.

Sonny is our neighbor Karen's 15-year-old blue and gold macaw.

He stole the show with a dramatic walk-on ... I mean hop-on ... late in the evening.
